Multi Modal Jet Updraft Gasification & Pyrolysis (MMJUGP)
MMJUG (Multi Modal Jet Updraft Gasification) and MMJUGP (the same platform with a pyrolysis stage) are patented technologies of GD Environmental Pvt. Ltd. (GDEPL), Pune. Vasundhara Re-Engineering is GDEPL’s Authorized Channel Partner: we procure the technology from GDEPL and install it for clients across India and abroad.
GDEPL was incorporated in 2014 and has designed, manufactured and installed more than 20 plants across 8+ Indian states and union territories. Its technology is CPCB certified, was funded and supported by the Department of Science & Technology, selected under AGNIi, validated through the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, and recognised under DIPP Startup India.
- Patented GDEPL technology
- CPCB certified technology
- Validated through the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser
- Designed for mixed municipal solid waste
- Modular plants from 200 kg per day to 50+ TPD
- Proven from city plants to high-altitude Leh
Waste is treated where it is produced, reducing transport, landfill and open dumping.
How the Technology Works
GDEPL’s integrated configuration (MMJUGP) combines dehydration, pyrolysis and multi-jet updraft gasification, with PLC-based controls for stability and safety. MMJUG uses the multi-jet updraft gasifier without the pyrolysis stage. Per GDEPL, the system is designed to process wet, mixed municipal waste without separate pre-sorting or pre-drying, and its engineering targets CPCB emission norms with ash as low as about 5% of the input weight.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are MMJUG and MMJUGP?
MMJUG is Multi Modal Jet Updraft Gasification technology. MMJUGP adds a pyrolysis stage. Both are patented technologies of GDEPL.
Who owns the technology, and what does Vasundhara do?
GDEPL owns the technology and designs and manufactures the core equipment. Vasundhara is its Authorized Channel Partner: it buys the technology from GDEPL and installs it for clients, with GDEPL providing engineering, commissioning support and training.
What are the outputs?
Syngas for industrial heat and power, dried refuse-derived fuel, green coal, biochar and hot water (up to 1,000 litres at 60°C per hour in GDEPL’s school installation), with fly ash of about 5% of input weight.
Does the waste need pre-sorting or pre-drying?
Per GDEPL, the system is designed to process wet, mixed municipal waste without separate pre-sorting or pre-drying, as dehydration is part of the process. Suitability is confirmed for each waste stream.
